Barney brings a wealth of experience to real estate having come from a Chartered Accountancy background, including his own practice for 25 years. On the property front he has owned a number of residential and commercial properties and was the driving force of a residential subdivision in White Horse Drive, Mokorua and a lifestyle subdivision in Awakeri. Keen to involve himself in assisting people with their property sales and purchases, Barney is a specialist in both residential sales and commercial sales and leasing. His knowledge and background is a distinct advantage in the market place and vital when assisting clients. During his 6 years as a District Councillor, Barney chaired the Hearing Committee responsible for consents on major projects including; Beachpoint Apartments – Ohope, both apartment blocks in Quay Street and The Hub development. Barney has called Whakatane home for 35 years and is well known in the community through his association with Rotary, Awakeri School, Whakatane and Trident High Schools, soccer and surf lifesaving. Away from the office Barney enjoys golf, walking, kayaking and is an avid reader and sports follower.
